Orion Nebula (M42), Running Man Nebula (Sh 2-279), Flame Nebula (NGC 2024), and IC 434. Stacked from 1,439 frames, with a total exposure time of 5 hours and 33 minutes. This is my third attempt at deep-space astrophotography and my first time using a tracker. I'm extremely delighted with the result! Just finished processing this an hour ago and am already planning my next target.

Black and white photo of a pelican searching for food in Chokoloskee Bay inside Everglades National Park. Taken right as the sun was setting, with rays peeking through the trees to shine only on the pelican, leaving everything else in shadow. I chose to put this in black and white to emphasize the texture of the waves and water.

An osprey perches on a telephone pole after a successful hunt in Everglades National Park preparing to bring its catch back to its hatchlings.I was sitting on the porch playing cards with my grandfather when I heard a loud screech. Looking up, I saw this osprey coming in from the ocean. I rushed inside to grab my camera just in time to capture it landing on the pole for a few seconds before taking off again. Since the bird was farther out than my lens could reach, I had to crop in, which meant sacrificing some depth of field. Getting the osprey to stand out was tricky due to the wide depth of field caused by the distance. To combat this, I masked the background and reduced its texture, something that, in my opinion, worked beautifully. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with making animals’ eyes pop out in my shots. This image is no exception, though I might have taken it a bit too far. Even so, I love how it turned out.
